Although Japanese automaker Honda has been relatively late to the EV party, the company has big ambitions for the Chinese market. This makes sense given that China happens to be the world’s largest market for electric cars. Following up on Honda’s e:N EV concepts first shown off in 2021, the manufacturer has now unveiled yet another China-bound EV, known for now as the e:N2 Concept.
Honda says this is part of the second batch of e:N series of cars slated to arrive in China. It’s worth pointing out that Honda already sells the e:NS1 and e:NP1 electric SUVs in the region. As Motor1 points out, the automaker has partnered with regional players like Dongfeng and GAC as part of a joint venture to bring Honda EVs to China.

The company says that the design of the new e:N2 Concept “does not belong to any existing categories,” although it seems to be an SUV based on local reporting. Surprisingly, interior images for the new concept car weren’t provided, with the company saying that it will leverage Honda Connect for user-friendly features and a relatively clean cockpit.
Based on the roadmap provided by Honda, the company will release up to 10 vehicles in the e:N series within 2027. Built on the e:N Architecture F, Honda claims that these EVs provide superior handling and driving experience, in addition to significantly improved vehicle stability and performance.
Will Honda launch EVs in India?
The manufacturer only has a hybrid option in the country (Honda City), while the company is reportedly conducting feasibility studies of its flex-fuel and electric cars for India. At a time when manufacturers like Tata Motors are dominating the segment, Honda wouldn’t want to be late to the party, especially when newer competitors are expected to arrive in India imminently.
